About TodaysMama

TodaysMama provides personal, professional and parenting resources designed to foster a greater sense of identity, empowerment and connection for women and mothers everywhere.

The idea for TodaysMama came in 2004, when young mamas Rachael Herrscher and Stephanie Peterson searched together for a Mom-n-Tot swim class and lamented the lack of a quality central local resource of practical information for mothers.

In October 2004, Rachael and Stephanie published the first Utah Mama’s Handbook. Shortly after the appearance of the inaugural handbook, demand began to pour in for similar books from mothers in other states who had happened upon the Utah book. In addition, many women expressed a desire for social networking opportunities, as well as ongoing how-to information that could enhance their parenting skills, professional growth and overall quality of life.

Currently, TodaysMama produces regional “Mama” resource guides for a growing number of U.S. cities; develops and manages the central TodaysMama Website; and oversees an expanding national franchise and licensing network.

The TodaysMama Website (TodaysMama.com) provides exclusive columns, features and tips in its Expand Your Perspective section from established authors and experts. Mamas share aspirations and find inspiration on the site’s Dream Big section, and groove and sway to the music on the site’s MamasMix.

The TodaysMama site also creates business and shopping opportunities for Mamas. Made by Mama online marketplace brings together unique and compelling Mama-designed products, while the Mama Pages include localized services from Mamas throughout the U.S.

Under the direction of TodaysMama’s leadership, each franchise develops region-specific Websites and local activities. All TodaysMama handbooks include comprehensive activity and resource guides, memberships and coupons. Each TodaysMama franchise also organizes networking events. Franchisees provide frequent perspective and activity suggestions for local print and online features, as well as television and radio programming.

Leadership

At age 7, Rachael Herrscher gave credit to magic socks for helping her score winning goals for her rec league soccer team. Some of that magic must have rubbed off, for the CEO of TodaysMama has continued to score big ever since. With job experience ranging from medical recruiting to adoption services outreach, Rachael brings her personal touch to the marketing and strategic direction of TodaysMama.

Keeping things running smoothly is nothing new to CFO Stephanie Peterson, either. This nine-time marathon competitor is also a project manager in the construction industry. Aside from building homes, she stays busy building TodaysMama by overseeing the financial and expansion plans of the organization.

TodaysMama isn't the only baby these two women shower attention upon. Rachael is the proud Mama of toddlers Josh and Addie, while Stephanie stays grounded caring for Logan and Lincoln. Neither believes in the concept of "super-mom," but their shared philosophy of "It is possible!" forms the foundation of TodaysMama products and services.
